The Mainframe:  Less Investment, More Productivity

The echoes from the ‘80s proclaiming “mainframe is dead” still ring in our ears but those giant machines still sit in our data centers. Additionally, mainframe MIPs have significantly increased worldwide from 5.4 mln in 2001 to 14 mln in 2008. And, adoption rates are rising as companies see the benefits, including robust cost savings, that a mainframe can deliver over distributed systems.
